Children’s

The work here was all originally conceived of as items of play. Regardless of the age, type or end function, many of these constructs were self-motivated and are much more rooted in frivolous fancy than tangible results.
With the birth of my daughter in 06, the tone of these works shifted and mostly related to her world and reality.

Jenga Blocks (Los Angeles, CA)

The inspiration for this project came from the popular table top game, Jenga. Commissioned by film director D.Kotsaras, each piece from Jenga Blocks would be a representation of a member of the director’s group of friends. The pieces were made out of plexiglass, with laminated black and white photos of each person adhered to the top surface using an acetate film. The surface of these pieces measured 4”x4” and as a completed form, it stood 7’ tall.
